French President, Japanese Prime Minister Seek to Promote Free Trade - Reports

French President Emmanuel Macron and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed on Tuesday to lead the talks to address free trade and other global issues at the Group of 20 summit scheduled in June, Japanese media reported

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd April, 2019) French President Emmanuel Macron and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed on Tuesday to lead the talks to address free trade and other global issues at the Group of 20 summit scheduled in June, Japanese media reported.

France was the first destination for Abe who is also planning to travel to Italy, Slovakia and Belgium before visiting the United States and Canada.

During a joint news conference in Paris on Tuesday, Abe and Macron agreed to lead discussions on free trade and a number of other top issues at the upcoming G20 summit, NHK broadcaster reported.

Abe will host the G20 summit in Osaka which is scheduled to take place June 28-29. Macron is due to chair the G7 summit which is to take place in the city of Biarritz, southwestern France August 25-27.
