Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's government has decided to establish its transmission and distribution company on the pattern of PESCO for delivery of electricity generated by its resources in the province

Peshawar (Pakistan Point News / Online - 23rd April, 2019) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's government has decided to establish its transmission and distribution company on the pattern of PESCO for delivery of electricity generated by its resources in the province.The provincial government plans to get license from NEPRA for the establishment of the new company.This year, 74 MW electricity generated from four hydro power plants constructed in the province will be connected to the National Grid which will generate a total of 1.

9 billion rupees annually to the province.Cheapest sale of 18 MW power to Industrial Area, generated from Pehur hydro electric power plant for uplifting of industrial sector.On Tuesday 30th meeting of Pakthtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO). Chairman Board of Director, Sahibzada Nisar Muhammad Khan presided the meeting . The PEDO budget was approved for next fiscal year's expenditures in this meeting. The members of board expressed dissatisfaction for not presenting the annual audit reports in the meeting and warned the concerned officers that they should present all audit reports by August.

The board recommended the regular appointment of Chief PEDO as soon as possible for smooth functioning.While establishment of its transmission and distribution company instructions were issued to submit the report to the Technical Committee. It was discussed in the meeting that in the current year 36.6MW electricity from Daral Khawar, 17 MW from Ranolia, 18 MW Pehur and 2.6 MW from Machay Hydel Power Plants would be included in the National Grid. In the end meeting,Chairman PEDO Board Nisar Muhammad Khan urged to make PEDO and its Board stronger. Moreover, the board decided to make special reforms and said that they will negotiate with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and Advisor to Energy and Power for further consultation in this regard.
