NUR-SULTAN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd April, 2019) SULTAN, April 23 (Sputnik) - Nursultan Nazarbayev, the chairman of Kazakhstan's ruling Nur Otan party and former president, proposed on Tuesday the candidature of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the country's current acting head of state, to run for the presidential post in June 9 elections.
"I am proposing to nominate Tokayev for the Kazakh presidency," Nazarbayev said at a party session.
