Ch Nisar likely to take oath as MPA

Ch Nisar is likely to take the oath after meeting with Shehbaz Sharif. It is expected that he will take the oath after April 24.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 20th April, 2019) Senior politician Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is likely to soon take the oath as Member Punjab Assembly.

Media reports said that a meeting is expected between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in London.

Ch Nisar has decided to re-establish contact with the PML-N after adopting a narrative of politics of resentment since the elections.

Ch Nisar is likely to take the oath after meeting with Shehbaz Sharif. It is expected that he will take the oath after April 24.

Media reports say that Ch Nisar used to oppose Nawaz Sharif’s politics but now that Shehbaz Sharif is leading the party, he has decided to contact him.

Ch Nisar, who contested as an independent candidate in the general elections from NA-59 and NA-63, lost to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

According to election results, Ch Nisar lost to PTI’s Ghulam Sarwar Khan who got 89,055 votes in NA-59 while former interior minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan got 66,369 votes.

He lost to PTI’s Ghulam Sarwar Khan in NA-63 as well. Ghulam Sarwar won with 64,301 votes while Ch Nisar stood second with 48,497 votes. PMLN’s Sardar Mumtaz Khan stood third with 22,475 votes.

However, he won his provincial assembly seat but did not take oath on it.

Polling across the country for general elections was held on July 25, 2018.
