Earlier in the day, the 12th session of the Joint Russian-Greek Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation opened in the Greek city of Thessaloniki. The session is expected to continue through Friday.

"We are talking about cooperation between Greek, Russian and European shipyards, as well as their joint project of building ships of Russian projects, such as catamarans and chemical tankers, in Greece, Russia and Croatia," Dimitrios Velanis, who is also a coordinator of the joint Russian-Greek commission, said.

According to Velanis, with agreements on joint ventures already in place and design work completed, the joint projects are only awaiting implementation.
