MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th April, 2019) The United States' recognition of Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which the country effectively annexed from Syria in 1981, will lead to Washington's international isolation and jeopardize the conflict settlement in the middle East, Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said on Tuesday.
"We repeat that this decision will leave the US isolated on the international arena. This move became yet another threat for the whole [conflict] settlement in the Middle East," the Arab League chief said.
