World Cup Squad: Umar Akmal is not called for fitness test

The fitness test is scheduled to be held on April 15 and April 16 at National Cricket Stadium Lahore.

LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 4th April 2019) The PCB has not called Umar Akmal for the fitness test ahead of squad finalization for the cricket World Cup scheduled to start from next month in England.

The name of the middle order batsman was not included among the 24 players who have been called by the Pakistan Cricket Board for the fitness test.

Media reports stated that the indicator showed that Akmal might have been dropped from the final squad for the world cup. However, this is not so far officially confirmed by the board.

Those who had been called for fitness test are: Sarfraz Ahmed, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malk, Muhammad Hafiz, Imamul Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Hussain Talat, Muhammad Rizwan, Shan Masood, Imad Waseem, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Muhammad Amir, Mir Hamza, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Shinvari, Roman Raees, Asif Ali, Haris Sohail, Waqas Maqsood, Junaid Khan, Yasir Shah, Shadab Khan and Muhammad Abbas. The fitness test is scheduled to be held on April 15 and April 16 at National Cricket Stadium Lahore.
