The Champions One-Day Cup will feature the country’s top cricketers

The men’s national selection committee has invited players from the Pakistan men’s, Shaheens and U19 sides and they will train under the guidance of national team’s and NCA’s coaches.

The two sides will enter the series after an exciting five-match T20 International series that ended in a 2-2 draw on Monday.

Shaheen had missed five Tests and three ODIs against England and New Zealand post the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 as he was completing his rehabilitation following a knee injury he had sustained during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle in July.

The newcomers who are excited to showcase their skills in the mega event include Multan Sultans’ Arafat Minhas, Karachi Kings’ Muhammad Irfan Khan, Peshawar Zalmi’s Haseebullah, Lahore Qalandars’ Shawaiz Irfan, Quetta Gladiators’ Aimal Khan and Islamabad United’s Hassan Nawaz.

Fast bowler Naseem Shah took a second successive five-fer and debutant Usama Mir bagged two wickets to restrict New Zealand to 255 for nine on a perfect batting track.

The Interim Chief Selector has identified gap between the individual players and the selection committee, vowing to address such issues for success.
