MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 03rd April, 2019) The Russian Valdai anti-drone system will be tested for the first time during the upcoming drills in the central Tver Region, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday in a statement.
"During the command and staff drills in the Tver Region, promising developments of various purposes and modifications are tested. For the first time the promising system of detecting and combating drones called Valdai will be used on combat patrol routes," the statement said.
The Defense Ministry said that the Valdai system would be able to detect a target via the radar channel as well as track it with electrooptic means.
Valdai is a town in the Novgorod Region, located near the lake with the same name. The town gave a name to the upland region in central Russia, a class of freight ships, a discussion club and a commercial car.
