ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 27th March, 2019) Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Executive Committee Member and Former Vice President, Mirza Abdul Rehman said on Wednesday that Minister of Finance may called upon a meeting of all trade bodies to discuss the proposal of another amnesty scheme which can be benefited to all business community but not some individuals.He criticized the meeting called upon the President FPCCI on amnesty scheme and recorded his reservation that with the attendance of few peoples in the meeting how could you send the proposal to the government for another amnesty scheme despite majority of Executive Committee members were absent in the meeting, that shows UBG group have some personal agenda.
He said you cannot hide the facts, whatever the proposal drafted by FPCCI, The Federation should get approved by all the executive committee of the Federation with two third majority and then accordingly President may forward the government.Abdul Rehman also alleged the affairs of the Apex trade body which were handled in a dectorial way, he proposed the President FPCCI to called upon the Executive Committee meeting and table the detailed agenda before the Executive Committee and then accordingly you will act.
Though the government will consider a new tax amnesty scheme after receiving proposals from business community.He said that business community has sought another tax amnesty. "The Prime Minister has directed the finance ministry to take proposals from the business community,"Abdul Rehman also told that the government was not in favor of giving any amnesty which failed to generate revenue and just to benefit some individuals.It may be noted here Asad Umar had submitted reservations on the previous amnesty scheme and it was on the record.
