Agreement with IMF soon: Asad Umar

Finance Minister says the new IMF mission chief is arriving Islamabad on Tuesday for an introductory visit.

LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 25th March, 2019) Finance Minister Asad Umar has said that IMF agreed to provide loan to Pakistan and the accord in this regard will soon be reached.

Asad was quoted as saying on local TVs that IMF had revised its stance while Pakistan had not changed its position on loan matter. The gap, he added, between the monitory fund and Islamabad had shrunk.

While providing few details of the condition of the loan, the prices of electricity and gas will not be increased in one go but subsidies will be withdrawn gradually.

He told the journalists that the new IMF mission chief is arriving Islamabad on Tuesday for an introductory visit.

The minister, however, avoided sharing details that how amount of the loan the government was seeking from the international fund and also did not share the condition for it.
