An anti-terrorism court in Karachi on Monday indicted the former SSP Malir Rao Anwar and 10 others in Naqeebullah Mehsood murder case

KARACHI (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 25th March, 2019) An anti-terrorism court in Karachi on Monday indicted the former SSP Malir Rao Anwar and 10 others in Naqeebullah Mehsood murder case. Anwar and others denied the crime.Rao Anwar and other accused appeared before the anti-terrorism court.The Judge read out the charges individually before the accused and said that they all are involved in the kidnaping and murder of Naqeeb Mehsud. The judge asked them to admit the charges, on that the Rao Anwar and others denied the crime.

The anti-terrorism court adjourned the court till April 11 and called on a magistrate who have to record the statements of applicants and eye-witnesses on next hearing.SSP Rao Anwar claimed to kill Naqeeb Mehsud along with three others last year in January, and had linked him with the ISIS and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.The court declared Naqeeb Mehsud innocent and ordered to withdraw all false cases against him.SSP Abid Qaimkhani's report stated that Naqeeb Mehsud were abducted along with two others, Muhammad Qasim and Hazrat Ali on January 4,2018 from the hotel situated on Isfahani road in Karachi.

Later both the companions were freed, who recorded their statements as eye-witnesses, according to an early court judgment.According to a court verdict, the presence of the police personnel is confirmed and it also knows about the presence of Rao Anwar from phone signals in the suspected competition."There is no proof of Naqeeb Mehsud's involvement in any terrorism activity contrary to Rao Anwar's statement before the committee and the media", said in a previous court judgment.It is remembered that after the Naqeeb Mehsud killing, the Mehsud National Movement went on protest which converted into Pashtun Tahafuz Movement, and they held nation-wide protest against forced disappearances and counterfeit competitions.
