The federal government has estimated cost of Rs 114.61 billion for 10 Billion Tree Tsunami project

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News / Online - 20th March, 2019) The Federal government has estimated cost of Rs 114.61 billion for 10 Billion Tree Tsunami project. The inner sources stated that 50% each funds would provide both by federal and provincial governments.The sources stated that Rs 14 billion would likely to be recommended for Billion Tree Tsunami project in next financial year budget of 2019-20. On the other hand government has prepared a plan for planting 10 billion fruits and flowers plants.

According to the PC-1 repot 530 million sapling of plants would be planted in Punjab, 2 billion in Sindh, 1 billion in KP and 250 million in Baluchistan.It was worth mentioned here that Pakistan hit its billion tree goal in August 2017 months ahead of schedule. It was worth mentioned here that Prime Minister Imran Khan few month earlier launched a countrywide drive to plant 10 billion trees across the country within five years to counter challenges of global warming and deforestation.The prime minister inaugurated the '10 Billion Tree Tsunami' drive by planting a sapling of Deodar specie at Makhniyal area where he had also kicked off Billion Tree Tsunami project of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in 2015.
