WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th March, 2019) US Army whistle-blower Chelsea Manning, who served seven years in jail for revealing a trove of military documents during the Iraq war, has been jailed again for refusing to answer questions from a Federal grand jury, US media reports said on Friday.

Manning was sent to jail after refusing to cooperate with the grand jury hearing in the US state of Virginia, NBC news said.

On Wednesday, Manning appeared before a grand jury in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in an undisclosed case, but refused to answer any questions citing the First, Fourth, and Sixth Amendments of the US constitutions, she said in an earlier statement.

In 2010, Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison for leaking a trove of military intelligence records to the anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks. In 2017, outgoing US President Barack Obama commuted her sentence after she had served seven years.
