MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th March, 2019) An Indian MiG-21 fighter jet crashed on Friday in the northwestern state of Rajasthan with the pilot having ejected safely, the country's Ministry of Defense said.
"Today afternoon a MiG-21 aircraft on a routine mission crashed after getting airborne from Nal near Bikaner. Pilot of the aircraft ejected safely," the Defense Ministry's spokesperson wrote on its Twitter page.
The ministry added that the incident could have been caused by a bird hit.
The authorities have launched an investigation into the aircraft crash.
