BEIJING: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-June 11th, 2026) China on Thursday expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions in the middle East and urged all parties to immediately halt military operations and resolve disputes through dialogue and diplomatic engagement.
The foreign media reported that the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian, during a regular press briefing, said Beijing was closely monitoring the worsening situation in the region, particularly amid reports of renewed strikes linked to the United States and Iran.
He said China was seriously concerned about the escalation of military activities and called on all relevant sides to stop hostilities without delay and return to negotiations.
Lin Jian stressed that China supports a comprehensive, sustainable and lasting ceasefire and believes that political dialogue and diplomacy are the only viable paths to resolving conflicts.
He further warned that continued escalation in the Middle East could pose serious risks not only to regional stability but also to global peace and security. He urged all parties to exercise restraint and avoid any actions that could further worsen the situation.
The statement comes at a time of heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, with several countries expressing concern over the possibility of a broader regional conflict.
