She said that the government’s insensitivity towards the health of a three-time prime minister is shocking.
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 5th March, 2019) Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, has said that the government is risking her father’s health.
Maryam Nawaz wrote a series of tweets on Tuesday, explaining about Nawaz Sharif’s physical condition and how a delay in treatment could risk his health.
She said that she met Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat Jail today along with his doctor. During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif had an angina attack.
“MNS’s doctor & I met him at Kotlakhpat jail today. During the meeting he had an episode of angina & asked for his nitrate spray. It was then that he divulged that he has had similar attacks 4 times in last week. He reiterated that he will neither report nor complain,” she wrote.
She further said that there is no treatment offered to him even in hospital.
“There is no treatment offered to him even when he is taken to & kept in the hospital for days. He says he doesn’t want to be in the hospital as an excuse or escape or just for the sake of it.”
In another tweet, she said that the government’s insensitivity towards the health of a three-time prime minister is shocking.
“MNS has been a 3 times Prime Minister & the insensitivity & callousness regarding his health on part of the govt is shocking to say the least. My family & I are extremely concerned given the grave risk to his health. His condition is in every way life-threatening,” she said.
Maryam Nawaz went on to say that it’s a medical fact that every episode of angina worsens the heart disease further and can irreversibly damage the heart. “Who will I blame or who will be responsible if anything happens to him God forbid? The callousness, I repeat, is shocking,” she wrote.
Maryam Nawaz added that the government is risking his health because of political victimisation.
“Imagine the extent of the heartlessness, hostility & political victimisation meted out to MNS by the govt that he is risking his health & life,” she added.
