The meeting in Brussels comes less than a month before the United Kingdom is expected to leave the European Union.
London has been pushing for binding guarantees from Brussels that the disputed provision in their Brexit deal to avoid a hard Irish border will not be indefinite.
The deal put forward by UK Prime Minister Theresa May has been voted down by parliament. May has promised lawmakers a second meaningful vote on her reworked proposal early next week and a vote on a no-deal exit or a limited Brexit delay by March 14.
