LoC firing: Families residing in border areas shifted to safe places

At least 375 families residing in the border areas have been shifted to safe places.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 4th March, 2019) The people residing near the Line of Control (LoC) are being shifted to safe places in view of the escalations with India.

At least 375 families residing in the border areas have been shifted to safe places.

Deputy Commissioner Kotli said that the shifted families are being provided with the best facilities.

At least 2599 people belonging to 375 families of four sectors of Kotli, including Charhoi, Khuiratta, Nakyal and Tatta Pani sectors, have been shifted to safe locations as the Indian forces continue to resort to ceasefire violations along the LoC.

The government of Azam Kashmir has established two camps in a school in Dandli and college in Charhoi in this regard.

The 113 families have been shifted to Dandli School, 166 in Charhoi College while 96 families have been shifted to their relatives.

Every day shelling has a direct bearing on the livelihood of LoC residents as it is damaging their houses, shops, fruit trees and crops. Although the AJK government is taking steps for their welfare, its meagre resources are a big impediment to the provision of these services to the entire affected population.

Around 503,000 people from 79,992 families reside along the LoC and have been directly exposed to Indian shelling.
