ANKARA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th February, 2019) Turkish top diplomat Mevlut Cavusoglu has had a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, in which they discussed Syria, a source in the Turkish ministry told Sputnik on Thursday."Our minister had a phone conversation with the Russian opposite number, Sergey Lavrov. The topic was Syria," the source said.
Russia and Turkey are guarantor states of the Syrian ceasefire. Russia has been assisting the Syrian government in defeating Islamist terrorists since September 2015.
