IRKUTSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th February, 2019) Serial production of the MС-21 passenger planes is scheduled to begin in 2021, and in the future, the Irkutsk Aviation Plant is capable of producing over 100 aircraft annually, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov told reporters following a visit to the company, which is part of the Irkut Corporation."I want to confirm that we will not change our plans: the task is to complete certification in 2020, and from 2021 to start serial production with all the difficulties that you know. I think that this is possible," Borisov said.
He said Irkut was capable of producing over 100 airliners annually in the future.
"I think this is quite real," he said.
Borisov said foreign companies were interested in Russia's MC-21.
