TOKYO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th February, 2019) North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived on Tuesday morning in Vietnam ahead of his second two-day summit with US President Donald Trump, slated to start in Hanoi on Wednesday, South Korean media reported.

After arriving by armored train at a station close to the Chinese border at 8:10 a.m. local time (01:10 GMT), Kim continued his way to the Vietnamese capital in a black limousine, the Yonhap news Agency reported.

Around two hours after his arrival to the Vietnamese border station of Dong Dang, Kim arrived to Hanoi's five-star Melia hotel, the agency specified.

According to a Sputnik correspondent, several armored vehicles are being used to provide security of the hotel.

Trump is expected to arrive in Hanoi later in the day and stay in five-star JW Marriott hotel.

The two leaders are set to hold five meetings during their summit.

The first summit between Trump and Kim took place in Singapore last June. During the meeting, Kim pledged to make efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula in exchange for security guarantees for North Korea and the suspension of US-South Korean military drills. However, no concrete steps have been made in this direction by either party.
