EU Parliament Committee May Vote on New Gas Directive on March 18 - Source

The European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) may vote on amendments to the EU gas directive regarding the offshore gas pipelines is expected on March 18, a EU source in the EU told Sputnik on Monday

BRUSSELS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th February, 2019) The European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) may vote on amendments to the EU gas directive regarding the offshore gas pipelines is expected on March 18, a EU source in the EU told Sputnik on Monday.

"It [the vote] is planned on March 18," the source said, answering a relevant question.

Member states' ambassadors meeting in Coreper format on February 20 endorsed the provisional agreement between representatives of the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament on compromise amendments to the EU gas directive.

The amendments should now get the approval of the European parliament and the EU Council.
