CHISINAU (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th February, 2019) Moldovan President Igor Dodon is the most popular and trustworthy politician in the republic, followed in a distant second by one of the country's opposition leaders, a fresh poll revealed on Monday.
According to a poll by Moldova's Association of Sociologists and Demographers, Dodon enjoys a 34 percent trust and popularity rating among the population, a 1.7 percent bump from January.
Maia Sandu, one of the leaders of the opposition ACUM bloc, got a 6.2 percent rating, an improvement of 1.3 percent from the month prior. Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip was the third most popular politician in the country with a rating of 4.4 percent, which is down 1.6 percent from the previous month. Former Prime Minister and leader of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova Zinaida Greceanii received a 4.1 percent rating. The ratings of other politicians were less than 4 percent.
At the same time, 1.3 percent of respondents could not pick a suitable candidate among those proposed, 19.2 percent said that they did not trust politicians at all, while 13.1 percent refused to give an answer.
The poll was conducted on February 1-14 among 1,195 people from 83 settlements in Moldova.
