CAR President, Opposition Expected to Take Part in Khartoum Talks- Source in Sudan Embassy

President of the Central African Republic (CAR) Faustin-Archange Touadera and the country's armed opposition are expected to participate in the talks set to start on Thursday in Sudan's capital of Khartoum, a source in the Sudanese Embassy in Russia told Sputnik on Wednesday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd January, 2019) President of the Central African Republic (CAR) Faustin-Archange Touadera and the country's armed opposition are expected to participate in the talks set to start on Thursday in Sudan's capital of Khartoum, a source in the Sudanese Embassy in Russia told Sputnik on Wednesday.

"The talks on the car will resume in Khartoum tomorrow. The CAR president, armed groups, and the countries interested in this issue � Chad, Congo, and Gabon as well as the African Union [AU] as the champion of this settlement are expected to participate," the source said.

According to the source, AU Commissioner for Peace and Security Smail Chergui will lead the talks on behalf of the union, and the negotiations could last 10 days.
