Three Sailors Dead, 8 Rescued in Kerch Strait Tanker Fire - Russia's Maritime Regulator

At least three sailors were found dead and eight more were rescued as a result of the fire on board two LNG tankers in the Kerch Strait on Monday, Russia's Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transportation (Rosmorrechflot) told Sputnik

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st January, 2019) At least three sailors were found dead and eight more were rescued as a result of the fire on board two LNG tankers in the Kerch Strait on Monday, Russia's Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transportation (Rosmorrechflot) told Sputnik.

According to previous reports, the Tanzania-flagged vessels caught fire in the Kerch Strait earlier in the day. A total of 31 crew, manned with sailors from India and Turkey were on board the ships at the time of the incident.

"Eight people were found alive while three bodies were lifted from the water," Rosmorrechflot said.
