Death Toll in Kerch Strait Tanker Fire Rises to 10 - Russia's Maritime Regulator

At least 10 sailors were found dead and 14 others were rescued as a result of the fire on board two LNG tankers in the Kerch Strait on Monday, Russia's Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transportation (Rosmorrechflot) told Sputnik

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st January, 2019) At least 10 sailors were found dead and 14 others were rescued as a result of the fire on board two LNG tankers in the Kerch Strait on Monday, Russia's Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transportation (Rosmorrechflot) told Sputnik.

According to previous reports, the Tanzania-flagged LNG tankers caught fire in the Kerch Strait earlier in the day. A total of 31 crew, manned with sailors from India and Turkey were on board the vessels at the time of the incident.

"Fourteen sailors have been rescued, 10 bodies raised from the water," the agency's press service said.
