MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th January, 2019) The Iranian Legal Medicine Organization confirmed on Monday that the bodies of all 16 passengers of the Iranian army cargo plane that crashed near Tehran earlier in the day had been recovered from the wreckage, among which there was only survivor.
"Of the 16 crew members of the aircraft, one person survived and 15 were killed," the organization's representative Mehrdad Ali Bakhshi said, adding that the bodies had been taken to Alborz province for forensic examinations.
He added that the identities of 10 of the 15 victims had been established, noting that the survivor was a flight engineer.
Earlier in the day, media reported that the plane, flying from Bishkek, crashed after one of the pilots reportedly started landing at the neighboring Fath airport by mistake, losing control of the aircraft as a result. The plane crashed in a residential area.
