Govt considers replacing controversial Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan

The outspoken minister often lands himself in hot waters over his certain remarks.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 14th January, 2019) The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is considering to replace Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan.

The outspoken minister often lands himself in hot waters over his certain remarks.

Just after assuming charge of the provincial ministry, two of his videos went viral on social media where he made some indecent remarks. This was followed by his sloppy participation in tv shows and scuffles with journalists.

However, media reports said that Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is not happy with his performance and is considering removing him.

The government is holding consultations to replace Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan with Samsam Bukhari.

Soon after becoming the provincial information minister, his video was leaked on social media where speaks about banning 'vulgar' posters outside cinemas. He also made lewd comments at a gathering in Lahore where women were present.

Later, he appeared on a TV show where the tough questions by the anchor apparently angered him and lost his cool.

He then hurled abuses and stood up but was recorded on camera.

He also referred to former president Mamnoon Hussain as ‘Dahi bhalley wala’ (a traditional yogurt recipe having freid flour balls) in another statement.

In a fresh, he got offended to a question by a reporter regarding the progress made on implementing the welfare state model like of Riyasat-e- Madina and ridiculed media.

The reporters were offended by the remarks and protested against the minister, boycotting his press conference.
