Death Toll in Building Collapse in Russia's Magnitogorsk Up to 38 - Emergencies Ministry

The death toll in the recent residential building collapse in the Russian city of Magnitogorsk, located in the Urals, has reached 38 people as one more body was recovered from under the rubble, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told Sputnik on Thursday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 03rd January, 2019) The death toll in the recent residential building collapse in the Russian city of Magnitogorsk, located in the Urals, has reached 38 people as one more body was recovered from under the rubble, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told Sputnik on Thursday.

"The body of a killed woman has been recovered, and the total death toll now amounts to 38 people," the press service said.

On Monday, a bloc of the 10-storey building in Magnitogorsk collapsed, supposedly due to a natural gas blast, causing multiple casualties and destroying scores of apartments.

Search and rescue operations continue. The condition of all the injured people who have been hospitalized after the collapse is assessed as stable.
