The Afghan Air Force's airstrikes and the army's operations killed at least 18 militants in the country's northern province of Faryab, local media reported on Tuesday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th December, 2018) The Afghan Air Force's airstrikes and the army's operations killed at least 18 militants in the country's northern province of Faryab, local media reported on Tuesday.

The airstrikes were carried out in the districts of Khwaja Sabz Posh and Dawlat Abad, according to the TOLOnews broadcaster.

Eight militants were reportedly injured by the airstrikes and the military operations.

Afghanistan has been witnessing the period of instability since late 1970s with a number of foreign countries having interfered in the conflict at various periods of time. Currently, the internationally recognized government of Afghanistan is fighting the Taliban insurgency as well as terrorist groups, including the Islamic State (outlawed in Russia).
