Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that Russia hoped a delegation from Greece would participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in 2019.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th December, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that Russia hoped a delegation from Greece would participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in 2019."I note that a delegation from Greece has traditionally been actively participating in the SPIEF. We expect that next year Greek economic agencies and business community will send a representative delegation to St. Petersburg," Putin said during his joint press conference with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras following bilateral talks.
Putin also highlighted the good performance of the Russian-Greek intergovernmental commission on economic, industrial, scientific and technological cooperation.
Tsipras is currently on a working visit to Russia, during which he has already held talks with Putin and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. A session of the Russian-Greek intergovernmental commission took place on Wednesday and Thursday in Moscow.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, held annually in Russia's second largest city, is a major global platform for communication between business representatives and the discussion of crucial economic issues. The next forum is scheduled for June 6-8, 2019.
