House Probe Gets 'Hundreds of Pages' on Clinton Foundation Possible Funds Abuse - Reports

A congressional probe into the Clinton Foundation has received hundreds of pages of evidence on potential misuse of funds, including allegations of quid-pro-quo promises to donors while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state from 2009 to 2013, Congressman Mark Meadows said in a US media interview with Fox News.

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th December, 2018) A congressional probe into the Clinton Foundation has received hundreds of pages of evidence on potential misuse of funds, including allegations of quid-pro-quo promises to donors while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state from 2009 to 2013, Congressman Mark Meadows said in a US media interview with Fox News.

Meadows, a Republican, is chairman of the House of Representatives Oversight Subcommittee on Government Operations, which has scheduled an investigative hearing next week on the status of the Foundation case, Fox news said in its report.

In 2017, then Attorney-General Jeff Sessions ordered US Attorney John Huber to launch the probe into the foundation.

Prosecutors working for Huber recently requested documents from MDA Analytics, a private investigative firm investigating the foundation, The Hill newspaper said in a report on Thursday.

The Hill said a whistleblower submission sent to the FBI and IRS in August 2017 included internal legal reviews that the Clinton Foundation conducted between 2008 and 2011 that raised concerns about legal compliance and improper mingling of personal and charity business.

As the probe into the Clinton Foundation gathered steam, the former secretary of state was dealt another blow when a Federal judge ordered the Justice and State departments to reopen an inquiry into Clinton's use of a private email server.

In a court order late Thursday, US District Judge Royce Lamberth ordered additional fact-finding in the case to determine whether Clinton used a private system in a deliberate attempt to subvert the Freedom of Information Act.
