Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu discussed in phone talks on Friday the preparations for the upcoming fresh round of consultations on Syria in the "Astana format," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th November, 2018) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu discussed in phone talks on Friday the preparations for the upcoming fresh round of consultations on Syria in the "Astana format," the Russian Foreign Ministry said."The sides reaffirmed their mutual desire to continue efforts to achieve a sustainable settlement in Syria on the basis of UN Security Council resolution 2254. In this context, the ministers reviewed the preparations for the next international meeting in the 'Astana format' on Syria, scheduled for the end of November this year, and exchanged views on steps to ensure its success," the ministry said in a statement.
