US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker said on Thursday that he plans to meet with Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov within several weeks, and the exact date for the meeting will be scheduled soon.
WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th November, 2018) US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker said on Thursday that he plans to meet with Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov within several weeks, and the exact date for the meeting will be scheduled soon.
"Mr. Surkov and I both expressed willingness to get together in the next several weeks," Volker told reporters in a telephone briefing. "We do not have a date fixed yet. Nothing is scheduled at the moment, but I think we will be doing it soon."
Volker expressed support for such dialogue, adding that he and Surkov are constantly in touch.
In late October, Russia's Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov told reporters that a meeting between Volker and Surkov is being worked out.
