Russia Hopes To Develop Program On Media Cooperation With China By Mid-2019 - Official

SHANGHAI (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 04th November, 2018) Russia plans to develop a program of media cooperation with China by summer of the next year, Alexey Volin, the Russian deputy minister for digital development, communications and mass media, said on Sunday at the fourth Russian-Chinese Media Forum, which is currently underway in Shanghai.

"Today an initiative on elaborating a Russian-Chinese program of digital cooperation in the media has been proposed. We have already discussed with our Chinese partners that the program may include up to 20 cooperation dimensions. We hope it can be developed by summer 2019," the deputy minister said.

Among possible joint activities under the program, Volin highlighted meetings of representatives of online platforms, consultations on information dissemination in the digital environment, media literacy promotion, production of media equipment and software for online services, and interaction between traditional media outlets.

The Russian-Chinese Media Forum is an annual event focusing on discussions of modern information technologies and new media. This year's session focuses on cooperation between the two countries' thematic media resources, and joint production of tv and video content.
