The Ukrainian military has used the S-300V1 man-portable air defense system during training in southern Kherson region for the first time in 19 years, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Viktor Muzhenko, said on Saturday.
KIEV (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 04th November, 2018) The Ukrainian military has used the S-300V1 man-portable air defense system during training in southern Kherson region for the first time in 19 years, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Viktor Muzhenko, said on Saturday.
"For the first time in 19 years, we used the man-portable S-300V1 air defense system, it destroyed two targets [during the training]," Muzhenko said in a post on Facebook.
The large-scale missile drills started at the Yahorlyk training ground in Kherson region on Thursday.
Ukraine has declared a no-fly zone in the training area over the Black Sea from Thursday to Sunday.
