US Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman confirmed to RIA Novosti on Thursday that he was diagnosed with melanoma in an early stage and has already come back from the United States after undergoing necessary treatment.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st November, 2018) US Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman confirmed to RIA Novosti on Thursday that he was diagnosed with melanoma in an early stage and has already come back from the United States after undergoing necessary treatment."I would like to thank my doctors who were quick with their early diagnosis and provided excellent treatment. We caught the melanoma early, and all signs are that I'll be fine. I'm back in Moscow with my family and the hardworking Embassy team, doing the work that needs to be done to represent the United States here in Russia," Huntsman said.
Huntsman was appointed an ambassador to Russia in October 2017. He previously served as the head of the US diplomatic mission to Singapore and China. From 1989 to 1990 he was the deputy assistant secretary of state in the Department of International Trade. He was the governor of Utah in 2005-2009.
