Russian Billionaires' Combined Net Worth Up $5.5Bln in 2018 - Bloomberg Billionaires Index

The combined wealth of 24 richest Russians in January-October 2018 increased by $5.5 billion, according to a fresh ranking by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI).

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st November, 2018) The combined wealth of 24 richest Russians in January-October 2018 increased by $5.5 billion, according to a fresh ranking by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI).

Leonid Mikhelson, CEO and co-owner Russian gas giant Novatek, topped the richest Russians list for the third month in a row with a $20 billion fortune, up $3.33 billion from early January, but down $1.6 billion from a month ago.

Alexey Mordashov, the major shareholder of steel producer Severstal, was ranked second with $19.4 billion, down $325 million from early January, but up some $600 million from early October. His fellow steel magnate, NLMK's Vladimir Lisin, is now worth $19.2 billion, up $1.2 billion from early January, but down $1.4 billion from last month.

Norilsk Nickel's Vladimir Potanin and LUKoil's Vagit Alekperov were ranked fourth and fifth with their fortunes at $18.8 billion and $16.5 billion, respectively. Potanin's net worth was down $104 million from January, while Alekperov's fortune was up $3.86 billion, much due to increase in oil prices.

Roman Abramovich improved his position to sixth from ninth last month. He saw his fortune increasing by $2.21 billion over ten months to $14.7 billion.

He is followed by Andrey Melnichenko (EuroChem, SUEK), Gennady Timchenko (owns shares in Novatek and Sibur) with $14.5 billion, Alisher Usmanov (Metalloinvest, Megafon, Mail.Ru Group) with $14.1 billion and Viktor Vekselberg (Renova) with $13.5 billion.

The BBI calculates personal wealth based on daily changes in markets and updates each net worth figure every business day after the close of trading in New York.
