Moscow Not Refusing Dialogue With NATO - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister

Moscow is not refusing dialogue with NATO and it will seek expansion of military contracts within the NATO-Russia Council, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said on Friday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th October, 2018) Moscow is not refusing dialogue with NATO and it will seek expansion of military contracts within the NATO-Russia Council, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said on Friday.

"We do not rule out dialogue at all, as we believe that, given the conditions of increased military activity in Europe, there is certainly a necessity of dialogue in order to seek de-escalation, in order to prevent dangerous military incidents, and in order to avoid misunderstanding of intentions," Grushko said in an interview for Russian tv channel Rossiya 24.

"Within the NATO-Russia council, we will seek resuming military sphere-related dialogue, as NATO keeps saying: "Let us work together." But while military contracts are frozen, we should develop mechanisms for avoiding dangerous military incidents so that there is no escalation, as if it is not done, we will not manage to do anything," Grushko added.
