A delegation of the French upper house lawmakers plans to pay a return visit to Russia in spring of 2019, Christian Cambon, the chairman of the Senate Commission on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces said Thursday.
PARIS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th October, 2018) A delegation of the French upper house lawmakers plans to pay a return visit to Russia in spring of 2019, Christian Cambon, the chairman of the Senate Commission on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces said Thursday.
"In spring of 2019, we will travel to Russia for a return visit. We will continue our dialogue without hypocrisy in order to jointly build peace," Cambon told reporters.
The Russian delegation from the Federation Council, an upper chamber of the parliament, visited France in April and took part in a joint session with French counterparts.
The return visit by French upper house lawmakers has repeatedly been postponed due to the domestic political situation in France, such as the scandal involving the French president's former security aide, Alexandre Benalla, who was caught on camera hitting a protester during the May Day demonstrations in Paris. The Elysee fired the embattled aide. Benalla has since been charged with violence and interfering in the work of public services.
