French President Emmanuel Macron has accepted Seoul's invitation to visit South Korea next year, Korean leader Moon Jae-in said on Monday.
PARIS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th October, 2018) French President Emmanuel Macron has accepted Seoul's invitation to visit South Korea next year, Korean leader Moon Jae-in said on Monday.
"I thank you for saying 'yes' to our invitation to come to South Korea next year," Moon said at a press conference in Paris.
He emphasized France's role in the ongoing talks to rid North Korea of its nuclear arsenal, saying its contribution to Korean peace as a permanent UN Security Council member was important.
The South Korean president said Paris and Seoul had agreed to step up strategic cooperation and underscored their efforts in boosting prosperity in Europe and on the Korean peninsula.
