Russia to Continue Providing Humanitarian Assistance to Donbas - Kremlin Spokesman

Russia will continue providing humanitarian assistance to the residents of Ukraine's conflict-torn Donbas region, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 10th October, 2018) Russia will continue providing humanitarian assistance to the residents of Ukraine's conflict-torn Donbas region, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday.

"The Kremlin would welcome a higher standard of living in this territory ... You know that the Russian side is constantly providing humanitarian assistance to these regions of Donbas and will continue this practice," Peskov said.

In late September, the 81st convoy of the Russian Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) delivered humanitarian aid to the regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. The convoy brought over 400 tonnes of humanitarian cargo, including children's food kits and medical supplies. The previous convoy reached the area on August 23.

Russia has been sending humanitarian aid to Donbas since 2014. The convoys brought over 76,000 tonnes of cargo to the region since then.
