"The president commended the cooperation between the two countries, especially the role played by the US Agency for International Development in financing projects in various fields, especially health, education and tourism, as well as its support in the implementation of small and medium-sized business projects," the statement reads.
Sisi said that the United States thus supported the implementation of socio-economic reforms in Egypt, which were aimed at ensuring the comprehensive development of the country.
The president and Melania Trump also discussed the strengthening of the role of women in Egyptian society, the protection of children's rights and youth development.
This visit is set to be the final of phase of the trip, during which the US first lady visited Ghana, Malawi, Kenya and Egypt. Her trip was aimed at promoting various organizations and programs in order to help and support children across the world, as she earlier specified.
