AMMAN, (Pakistan Point News - 28th Sep, 2018) A group of Arab writers, intellectuals, cultural figures, mediapersons and opinion-makers called for enrichening the lives of individuals and communities with knowledge so they can safeguard the Arabic language as an incubator and guardian of heritage and identity.

At the end of a two-day event, organised by the Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation in cooperation with the Abdulhamid Shuman Foundation, they spoke about the vital importance of what they called ''knowledge immunisation'' in the lives of individuals and groups.

The forum discussed the concept of cultural identity and the role of culture in the development of communities, as well as other cultural issues.

Influence of the technological revolution and knowledge explosion on the Arabic language and role of media institutions in raising awareness about culture and heritage were also debated during the event.

The launch of the forum is part of a Memorandum of Understanding between the founders of the two foundations in 2010, which stipulates the organising of artistic events, intellectual seminars and cultural weeks in the UAE and Jordan.
