Appeal Court in London Backs 1 of 4 Ukraine's Arguments in $3Bln Dispute -Russian Minister

An appeal court in London has backed only one out of four arguments of the Ukrainian side in the $3 billion Eurobond dispute with Russia, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on Friday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th September, 2018) An appeal court in London has backed only one out of four arguments of the Ukrainian side in the $3 billion Eurobond dispute with Russia, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on Friday.

"The decision of the appeal court is as follows: three out of four arguments of the Ukrainian side were not backed. The Court of Appeal of England has ordered a more detailed study of the issue on one of them. It is about granting a loan to Ukraine allegedly under the influence of the Russian side," Siluanov told reporters.

The minister noted that Russia would appeal to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.

"We will appeal to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, and we are sure that the UK justice will be able to objectively investigate and deliver an appropriate ruling. The current decision delays the final judgment on the settlement of the dispute between the Russian Federation and Ukraine for some time. We hope that the next instance, the higher court, will finally deliver an unbiased ruling," Siluanov said.
