Sentencing of Man Indicted by Mueller for ID Theft Delayed Until October - Court Filing

The sentencing of Richard Pinedo, the man from California charged in connection with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russian troll farm case, has been delayed from October 1 to October 10, the US District Court for the District of Columbia revealed in a filing on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th September, 2018) The sentencing of Richard Pinedo, the man from California charged in connection with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russian troll farm case, has been delayed from October 1 to October 10, the US District Court for the District of Columbia revealed in a filing on Tuesday.

"Set/Reset Deadlines/Hearings as to RICHARD PINEDO: Sentencing has been rescheduled for 10/10/2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Courtroom 12 before Judge Dabney L. Friedrich," the court filing said.

Pinedo was not directly accused of knowingly aiding what has been alleged to be Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election. His attorney said Pinedo sold bank information that allowed individuals to fraudulently establish accounts with online institutions.

Pinedo pleaded guilty to identity theft and agreed to cooperate with Mueller's office in its investigation into Russia's alleged interference in 2016 election, and possible collusion between Trump and Moscow.

Mueller announced Pinedo's plea agreement in February on the same day he indicted 13 Russian nationals for interfering in the 2016 election.

Russia has repeatedly denied interfering in the US election, saying the allegations were invented to excuse the election loss of a presidential candidate as well as deflect public opinion from actual instances of election fraud and corruption.

Both Moscow and US President Donald Trump have dismissed accusations of collusion. Trump has characterized the investigation as a witch hunt and has pointed out that no evidence of collusion has been provided in well over a year.
