No Serious Violations Registered in Sunday Elections - Putin

No serious violations have registered during the elections held on Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday.

VLADIVOSTOK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 10th September, 2018) No serious violations have registered during the elections held on Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday.

"In general, the election campaign was held with a rather high voter turnout, well-organized, with minimum violations. No serious violations have been recorded so far," Putin said, concluding the Presidium of the State Council in Vladivostok.

According to the president, the results of the elections held on Sunday have showed public trust.

"I would like to tell the newly elected regional heads, parliament members with good reason that it is a serious step forward in life, in career, and this is, of course, public trust for the development of regions, municipalities, the country as a whole. I would like to wish you all good luck," Putin said.

The president noted that the need for a second round in some region was a normal practice.

"In some regions, including here, in the Far East, a second round will take place, it is absolutely normal phenomenon, normal situation. I am sure that this stage will be completed in the near future," Putin said.

On Sunday, 22 Russian regions held elections of their heads. The second round is due to take place in four subjects of the Russian Federation.
