The United Nations (UN) has to investigate how terrorists in the Syrian province of Idlib are obtaining foreign weapons, Russian Ambassador to the UN Vassily Nebenzia told the Security Council on Friday.
WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th September, 2018) The United Nations (UN) has to investigate how terrorists in the Syrian province of Idlib are obtaining foreign weapons, Russian Ambassador to the UN Vassily Nebenzia told the Security Council on Friday.
"How do the terrorists manage to gain access to foreign military products in such volumes? Directly from manufacturers? Or from the so-called moderate opposition, which has no difficulties gaining external support? This is an issue which requires urgent consideration by key United Nations bodies," Nebenzia said.
Russia's envoy noted that violations of the ceasefire regime in Syria are occurring on a daily basis.
He also underscored the fact that Russian troops have destroyed 55 weaponized drones in the de-escalation zone.
