A large Bulgarian delegation, including entrepreneurs and scientists, has arrived in Crimea, Ivan Abazher, the leader of a local Bulgarian community, the autonomy of "Paisius of Hilendar," told Sputnik on Friday.
SIMFEROPOL (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th September, 2018) A large Bulgarian delegation, including entrepreneurs and scientists, has arrived in Crimea, Ivan Abazher, the leader of a local Bulgarian community, the autonomy of "Paisius of Hilendar," told Sputnik on Friday.
"The delegation includes representatives of civil society, business, science, as well as political scientists and journalists from influential outlets. They have come to take part in our international festival of Bulgarian culture 'Bulgarian Meetings'," Abazher said.
According to the community leader, the delegation includes 10 people.
"After returning home, they will talk about what is really happening on the peninsula," Abazhe said.
The festival will begin Friday and last through Tuesday. The event promotes Bulgarian culture in Crimea, but, at the same time, aims at promoting Crimea among the Bulgarians who live in different countries, the community leader said.
The peninsula's inhabitants voted to rejoin Russia in a referendum in 2014. However, Kiev and its allies have not recognized the vote and consider the region part of Ukraine. Russian officials have repeatedly stressed that the referendum was held in accordance with the international law.
